Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF)

In 2012, Northwestern Mutual began its journey and partnership with Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) to search for a cure for childhood cancer by providing support to families battling the disease and survivors struggling with treatment late effects. In addition to funds raised by various Network and District offices, the Northwestern Mutual Foundation provides a substantial grant to ALSF each year.

Alexandra "Alex" Scott, through struggling with terminal cancer, hosted lemonade stands in her front yard to raise money to find a cure. In 2005, Alex's parents, Liz and Jay Scott, established ALSF in honor of their daughter and her courageous efforts. Since the foundation's inception, ALSF has managed to raise $95 million for pediatric cancer research and has funded more than 450 research projects.

Clarity Financial Planning Group, along with Northwestern Mutual's Philadelphia office, has actively been involved with the annual ALSF Lemon Run, which is located right in our backyard - Fairmount Park. Each year people from our team and network office come together to participate in the 5K Run/Walk, which is organized by ALSF.
